Day 1 Teaser week

This is an activity for the Summer Learning Journey teaser week we had to do on the NZ singer Lorde. 

Angle DLO

This week in maths we have been learning about the different angles. On Tuesday we had to create a DLO about the different angles.

M3's Movie

Last term M3 walked to the Westland Recreation Centre to make a movie for the movie festival. We went on the hydro-slides and in all the pools. Me Indie and Alexi jumped into the deep cold pool with the gopro and touched the bottom of the pool. Then we went into the warm pool and did a whirl pool with the whole class. We also watched Grey High play basketball. Here is our movie we made!

Need Help Online

Madeline comes in every week and teaches us stuff about our Chromebook and cybersmart, today she taught us about what to do if someone says something nasty online. Here is my poster to show you the 4 steps.

Pick A Path

In writing for about 5 weeks we had to create a piece of writing that lead to 3 paths. We were in a group of 3 so we got to do a path each. 
My favourite thing was adding in the images and making the slides.
It was hard thinking of what to write because we had to do loads of detail.
Maybe next time I would try to use my time more wisely because I finished my path on the last day.

In chapter chat this week we had to research The Rolling Stones. Here is my slide.
It was easy to make the slide it was hard to research The Rolling Stones.

Maths DLO

Here is my maths for week 7.

Jump Jam

Yesterday Mamaku and Pohutakawa went to Jump Jam in the hall with Brett [the man who is alway's on the Jump Jam videos]. We did the song witch doctor, YMCA and coconut tree. When he put on YMCA the teachers had to sit on stage and do the actions everyone was laughing and singing!!! I really liked doing Jump Jam because the Moves were fun and I really liked the songs!!!

How to make a burger.

WALT: write a procedure.
Miss Kaye let us create burgers online then we had to write instructions to go with it. Then when everyone's instructions were done we got to create burgers in real life.

I found this quite hard because Eclipse's instructions weren't specific enough.
I found this easy because I got my actual burger [patty]!
I liked adding the ingredients to the burger.
My NSL is to add more adverbs.

in chapter chat [reading] we have been reading Ms Bixbys last day.

I found this easy because Miss Kaye read the run away part of the book.

Perimeter and Area DLO

 

     In maths we have been doing perimeter and area DLO's.

I found this hard because I didn't know what area and perimeter at mean't at first but now I do!

I also found it easy because I know how to use screen castify.

Electricity 2019

On Tuesday we went to the sub station to learn about electricity
First we were building circuits before Cos min came in and showed us a slide show and his generator he made. Then we went up a hill to the sub station and learnt about high voltage

My favourite activity was watching the movie Narnia, decorating the Lion on the door and the kids lit quiz in Mamaku hub.
I dressed up as cat in the hat because my friends Indie and Alexi were being Thing 1 and 2.
Next year I want to look harder and try to find the golden ticket.
Next time I want to dress up as a m&m with Indie and Ivy.
I found it hard to find the golden ticket because Mrs Costello hid it in really good places.

Hard Mintie Challenge

WALT: Use a ruler to measure to the millimetre.

I liked when we got to eat the mintie lolly.

This was hard because the mintie lolly wrapper just wanted to rip open.

The easiest part was eating measuring the mintie lolly wrapper


Next time I want to make the wrapper skinnier and thinner.

Week 10 Maths DLO

This week in maths we have been learning reversibility [+ not -]
I found this hard because I didn't get what Miss Kaye meant.

I enjoyed this activity because I knew what to write about.
To improve my work I need to use more time connectives.
